The Company This company is an Australian Market leader in Menswear and is also an international business. This company has been in the market for over 20 years and is still in a huge growth stage with over 200 stores and many more to come. The Role This role is a newly created role to assist with the roll outs of new stores and the refurbishment of existing stores. In this role you will be reporting to the Group Creative Director and also working closely with Brand managers and Visual Merchansdise Manager. Some of the job responsibilities are as follows: - Develop store layouts and fixture plans in conjunction with GM,Group Creative Director and Visual merchandise manger within agreed time frame and in compliance of company planning and design principles to ensure general acceptance
- Interpret store design and new development briefs and execute them timeously
- The detailing and development of new working drawings for various specialists- shopfitters,manufacturing engineers,flooring contractors and ceiling specialists who would execute and manufacture these fixtures and fittings to standard specifications and finishes.
- Liase with landlords, RDM,developers,architects, engineers, electrical and air-conditioning consultants, councils, manufacturers and shop-fitters with respect to the design parameters as specified by the company.
- Prepare submission drawings for landlord and council approval.Prepare final detailing working drawings for contractors. Coordinate drawings and documentation within given time frames.
- Consult with various suppliers regarding availability and cost specifications on materials, finishes, fittings and fixtures. Select appropriate materials to minimise shop-fitting costs through design and specification work.
- Schedule and issue documentation for tendering and construction purposes in liaison with Project Managers.
- Ensure that all documentation is in compliance with BCA,DDA and SFG design standards.
- Manage fixture component stock levels across all brands (Bulk orders) with all suppliers
- Order fixtures for new stores/relocations/ refurbishments and update on workflow.
- Estimate store fit-out costs for feasibility and check scope of works
- Drawing modification using Autocad
- Prototype design,development and modification
The requirements and qualifications you need for the role - Must have 5 years + Experience in a similar role of store development and roll outs in retail
- You have a retail background in the similar role with a large volume fashion retailer
- Degree in Architecture or design related field
- Demonstrated ability to manage to a budget and to deliver on aggressive timelines
- Throuogh understanding of architectural detailing
- Proficiency with Autocad
- Proficiency with 3-D modelling programs (preferred)
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Collaborative,team player attributes
- Ability to develop new prototypes and fixtures
- Strong understanding of branding and ability to communicate brand through store design
- Desire and ability to work in a fast-paced demanding work environment
- Flexibility to travel interstate and OS
